Sir George Trevelyan was awarded the 1982 Right Livelihood award "...for educating the adult spirit to a new non-materialistic vision of human nature." He is considered as one of the founding fathers of the 'New Age' movement, promoting global humanitarianism from a non-sectarian, holistic, scientific and mystical point of view. In 1971 he set up the Wrekin Trust to promote spiritual education and knowledge.
